The words that I write hold space for me, allowing me to flip my perspective, connect with my Soul and continue to grow in this life. There is nothing I wish more than for others to join this space with me, and to heal and grow as they read my words. Although, it’s not really reading. The experience is more like drinking the soup you’ve always needed, with life lessons and wisdom mixed in there with dashes of fiery honesty. This is what I feel when I consume my words, and I want others to be able to experience my words for themselves.
Each time you read any of my words, whether it’s in my books, a comment, or my weekly Substack newsletter, you will find a new perspective or new nugget of information to keep growing and healing on your life journey. That’s how the Soul works. That’s how my intuition finds you when you need it most, through my words.
In 2023, I published two books, both hold words that I received from the horses. These lessons broke me and built me back into the person that I have come today. There are words are from multiple aspects of my life such as love, grief, laughter, growth and soul searching.
The intuitive nature of my writing means that you will find whatever you’re looking for from my words. And when you put them down for a while, my words will meet you right where you are at when you pick them back up.
My words what to growth with you, and nourish your life. Just like how I consume my words and use them for growth and nourishment in my life.
I want my readers to experience my words because they help me. By holding space with my words, the readers will connect in ways that they need to keep going.
Book baby #1 - Unlocking the Wisdom of Horses Within You
My very first published book was a group project that I joined in January 2022. Together with dedicated horsewoman from around the world (Canada, US, Germany, Scotland, Sweden, etc) we held space for each other as our chapters came to life. Each chapter is written by a different another, and accompanied by a self-portrait intuitively created by Nica Quinn from Nica Draws Nature. This international co-authored book, well more like piece of magical art, is called Unlocking the Wisdom of Horses Within You.
My chapter is titled “The Calling of Bay Mares”, and features some reflections and lessons from a couple bay mares who push me onto my path in the horse world. I also provide more depth into a very tragic day in Blue’s life (bay quarter horse mare) that is not written in my self-published book called Some Equine Truths: Volume 1. The stories held within the chapters of this book are such transformational and personal words that it’s a life-changing experience to read this book.

Book baby #2 - Some Equine Truths: Volume 1
My second book published in 2023 is my first self-published book called Some Equine Truths: Volume 1, which I started writing in October 2021 after the passing of Blue, a young bay quarter horse mare, who completely changed my life. She changed the way I interacted with horses, the way that I thought about myself, the way that I held space for myself and others, the way I understood my nervous system, as well as the way I walked on my healing journey. She changed everything about me, and made me into the horsewoman and human I am today.
I am forever grateful for the four short yet expansive months that I spent with Blue. I wrote our book during a time of grief and reflection, where I was interested in writing down all the lessons I learned from Blue so that I wouldn’t forget them.
The audience I had in mind for Some Equine Truths is myself. When I first started writing this book, I had little intention or interest in sharing it with others. However, when I spoke to some friends about writing these lessons down, they encouraged me to turn it into a book because they wanted to read it. So I did.
A couple years, 30,000 words, and a book cover design later (from Nica Draws Nature), Some Equine Truths is out in the world sharing her wisdom and brutal honesty wherever the words feel like they need to go. My words are little beings of their own and I trust them to find their way into the lives of people and animals who need my words the most.

Tales of the Equine-Human partnership
In September 2021, I lost a young bay mare named Blue, who I had in my life for only a few months, to Eastern Equine Encephalitis. It was tragic and heart-breaking. My winter was spent recovering from this sudden loss. I found support in friends, family and horses - of course.
I also found comfort in writing down these words which have formed my first book. I wrote about the thirteen equine truths that Blue taught me, which encompass some hard lessons and encouraging wisdom about being in the horse world. Sharing Blue’s story is my way of honouring her, while spreading her wisdom to all corners of the horse world. While reflecting on our time together, I learned that there are many horses out there who share Blue’s story.
My greatest hope after you read this book is to find these horses and help them. To give them a voice in this horse world, so that we start to put the horse first.
