This space is dedicated to the magic of poetry. A collaboration between two inspired writers, wanting to dive into the art of writing poetry.
Every month, around the full moon, Carla and Danielle will each share a poem inspired by the same prompt for that month. Prompts are written and chosen by Danielle and Carla as well.
This Month's Prompt: Breaking Free
"Hop onto the insanity train with me..."
As May's Flower Moon blooms with wild abundance, we ask: What happens when we abandon convention and embrace the wild unknown? Two poets explore the liberating journey of surrendering to life's chaotic beauty...
Danielle's Poem: The Soul's Escape
Hop onto the insanity train with me. Run away.
I'm going full psycho
I beg you to join me on the run
Everyone is focusing on themselves
There is too much going on
The collective energy is taking us on a quick trip
around the sun
Life is no longer about impressing anyone
Life is about getting your soul work done
Now we lead double lives: Running away from the normal life
while double barreling towards the Soulful life
My days aren't spent writing to-do lists or dreaming anymore
Today, I use my sword to cut through the bullshit
I take my knife and carefully carve out my schedule
I grapple onto relationships that I cannot lose, in exchange for ones on the run
I am running away on the train
to a place that no one knows
It calls my Name
Join me in my insanity
Cut out the life you want and run away with it, too
Carla's Poem: This Is Not A Five Year Plan
Hop on the insanity train with me… Run away
Leave it all behind
The normal
The standard quo
The rules
The expectations
Beige walls
Not celebrating your birthday because your past 30
Dressing your age
Any sentence with the word should in it
The strings holding it all together
All aboard the insanity train
Where it's all about
Wonder
Creativity
Chaos
You discover the meaning of the word devotion
I discover the meaning of the word devotion
There are no beige walls
But there are rage cars
You can stare out the window daydreaming about your dream life
Or you can simple live it on the insanity train
And by simply I mean letting 13 ideas engulf you all at once
By giving into the unknown
Forgetting a 5 year plan was ever even a thing
You can have financial security AND financial frivolity
Hop on the insanity train, baby
We don't use the word hard anymore
But we do hard things
And fun things
And things that make no sense
Not any sense
NO sense
By no sense
We mean no lines or rules or parameters or reason
But all the senses in the world
Taste and touch and smell and sight and hearing
Definitely that six sense too
Get in the insanity train, loser
We're not just going shopping
We're going living.
